Selling Thingiverse Items On Ebay And Etsy

Now before I even get started I know this is a very controversial subject that everyone has there own opinions on.So now lets get into it. I run a small ebay store where I sell 3d printed items. Some of the models I did design myself in 360 fusion and print to sell. While there are quite a few others that I did not make that where taken from thingiverse.I recently had someone contact me and basically threaten to “Expose” me for listing these items, posting links to http://ift.tt/2f8jAWc im sure most of you have known about if not take a read. Basically some company took like 2000 items off thingiverse and was selling them using the thingiverse photos not giving credit to the artists, as well as selling items marked as non commercial.I was well aware of this and this that it is a scumbag thing to do. However, I do not see any issues with selling thingiverse items on other marketplaces. If of course according to the creative commons license it permits you to do so. The artist should have the right to choose what they want allowed from there work and if they chose to allow it to be used for commercial purposes then I do not see the harm. Shoot I have posted items on etsy and people can do as they please with them from the licensing I chose. If I create something I don’t want sold then I choose that license or don’t list it at all.Now in all my listings I do have a link saying original creator and and a link to the thingiverse page where you can download and print yourself as well as the text from the creative commons license that is tied to that specific item.What is your opinion it? If you are following the guidelines set out by the creator then whats the harm of selling the items so others who do not have a 3d printer can enjoy the models that have been created? http://ift.tt/2fem8Wn

Why the fuck is not everybody using PEI as their print surface?

I don’t understand. Almost every single thread I see about bed adhesion, the top recommendation is “glue and glass”. Glue is a pain in the ass and everyone knows it. Having to wipe that shit down and reapply gets old, and if you get lazy and don’t swap it out your bed starts looking like a mess.PEI, on the other hand, requires no chemical adhesive, leaves smooth print bottoms, pops prints off easily, and doesn’t require constant cleaning and upkeep. EVERY single person I have recommended PEI to in real life has been blown away with how easy it is. I have not heard a single person, online or in my personal life, complain about PEI or say “wow I miss the days of constantly spraying noxious hairspray/applying Elmer’s glue to this sheet of glass just so that I can’t even get my print off the bed after it’s done”.It’s the 21st century people. Simplify3D is a horribly mismanaged company, with huge employee turnover. I’m thinking of taking some time and writing out all the problems I consider worthwhile. 2016 “Holiday” Themed 3D Printing / 3D Design Contest
