2016 “Holiday” Themed 3D Printing / 3D Design Contest

Hey fellow Redditors, welcome to the 2016 Printed Solid “Holiday” Themed 3D Printing Contest. In the past, we’ve sponsored a multimaterial contest and have had some incredibly creative entries. It has been a while since the last contest /r/3dprinting contest, so we decided to make it a bit more broad this year.Here’s how it works:Contest begins on November 18th and Continues until December 21st. Voting will take place until December 23rd, then the winners will be announced on Christmas Eve.No purchase required to enter. One Entry per redditor. If you want to enter again, you can void your prior entry, but you have to pick one entry. Employees of Printed Solid, the partners donating prizes to this contest, or judges are not eligible to win any prize.Main contest: Print a cool “Holiday” themed thing. “Holiday” in quotes because it can be any holiday that you like to celebrate.Post a link to pictures of this print in the comments.You must include:Printer usedMaterial used (type, brand, and color)Relavent settings: layer height, layer width, infill, shell thickness, etc. Things that others could follow to try to reproduce your awesome result.Any special things you did to make it happen (finishing, painting, printer in the shower stall, etc)Statement around where you got the design from, i.e. designed by myself in onshape or downloaded from youmagine.com. If it is a download, you need to include proper attribution. If you designed it yourself, and are so willing, please share a link to your design. Sharing your design isn’t a requirement to enter the contest, but it’s generally a cool thing to do.Sub-Contest: Don’t have a printer (yet)? At the suggestion of /u/ubermeisters We will be running a sub-contest within this contest for people who don’t have a printer (yet).Design a cool Holiday themed thing. For this contest, post a link to pictures of your design in the comments. You must include:Program used for design.Link to design files if you’re willing. This is strongly encouraged.A statement around what technology you would use to print your design. i..e Is there a printer on your Christmas list or do you like to use a service bureau? Is it designed for FFF, SLA, etc.Prizes: We’ve got some cool prizes this year from Printed Solid and partners. These prizes apply to the printing contest only except where noted.First prize will be an Einscan-S 3D Scanner, graciously donated by Shining-3D.Second Prize will be a $250 Gift Certificate to Printed SolidThird Prize will be a 4 pack of each of the Colorfabb co-polyesters. One spool each of XT, HT, NGEN, and NGEN Flex.
