Hey folks,My lab does a lot of 3D prints and we clean with a Sodium Hydroxide solution in an ultrasound cleaner for 4-8 hours depending on the part size.As I saw in this past post, people are also encountering the slippery film which has been rightly identified as remnant NaOH. /u/strangesam1977 suggested the running water for 30 minutes bath which is a great idea. However I ran my bath for 30 minutes for a medium size part (human hand model) and the water near the part is still pH 9 and the surface of the part itself is pH 11 when I use my pH tester strips. Please be very careful and use extra rinsing if you have a large part! There are lots of different small porous areas in the part where residual NaOH can reside. After you take it out of the bath, feel the surface and if it is still slippery, you should probably continue soaking it in a running water bath. Using pH test strips can help to verify.Hope this helps! http://ift.tt/21aWMY0
