This is a shoutout to Makergear for their incredible support policy — you still get support even if you buy it used.

If you haven’t seen me post, I can’t sing enough praises over the Makergear M2. I bought mine used, a previous generation Rev. D. I got it in and the printing began. Excellent prints!About a month later, I’m noticing the bed was a little high in the middle. I brought it to a friend’s house, and I did not take proper care of lugging it around and a power cable on the heatbed snapped. I also managed to make an incredibly minor chip in my glass bed banging it accidentally on the sturdy steel frame.I bought a new heatbed + glass plate (will repair the snapped cable later when I’m more confident in my soldering skills and electrical knowledge). Still had the same problem, so I had found that in older machines, over time the linear X axis rail can become bowed. Makergear CEO had posted to send an email to support, there’s a very simple jig fix they had.I did email them and let them know it was used. Here’s their response:”BranchedOut,Our support extends to all those who own M2s whether new or old.Is there any way you can send us a picture of what you are seeing?I do believe there is a jig we can send out for you but I will need to check on that. Thanks, Peter MakerGear SupportPhone: (216) 508-4025 Check out our Wiki: http://ift.tt/2mmhWco Print your own parts: http://ift.tt/2n1zTtI Useful print quality tips: http://ift.tt/1NyMvzA”I didn’t expect this answer. At best, I expected them to link me to a page on their store to buy one.Makergear is a group of engineers making printers for engineers. This element is easily noticeable in everything they do. The entire system is incredibly easy to work with when you need to get into the guts. There’s a small handful of printed parts on the machine and they provide files for those, no problem.I cannot recommend this company enough. http://ift.tt/2ngB5LN
