When I first heard about printing I read that if you build your 3D printer, you’ll learn ~90% percent of what you need to know. Since the Prusa i3 mk2 came out, a lot closer to something I can afford, I’ve been thinking if I should get that one or the TAZ 6. I’ve decided to put together the parts needed and see how cheap I can get the TAZ. I’m using LulzBot’s Bill of Materials(BOM), where they also list manufactuers and distributors. I am editing my copy of the BOM with prices and links to the sites to order parts, and I am updating them as I go, since some distributors are better for smaller orders than others. Since putting some work into this Doc, I thought I might share it and gets some thoughts/tips. I am actually at work as of this first post.
