3D Printer in Dorm

So I know this subject has been brought up before, but I’m a bit upset and just wanted to post about this. I had a d-bot corexy printer in my dorm last year which I brought back this semester (university requires students to stay in dorms for at least 2 years). My dorm’s director this year inquired to the housing department about whether 3dprinters were allowed and I received an email today saying I cannot have my printer because it is not UL Listed as an entire piece of equipment and because there is no ventilation for the PLA. The university has makerbots in a number of classrooms with even less ventilation than my room (at least my room has a window that can be opened). I know in the end it’s the university’s call, but I wanted to see if anyone can help me come up with a counter-argument. http://ift.tt/2bZc1G3
