AlbumWay easier than I expected. I think I spent around 15 bucks on supplies and should be able to plate pretty much as much as I want.Anyhow, basically I just took some graphite lubricant and mixed it 50/50 with some black acrylic paint. Painted it on the 3d print (PLA). Let it dry for about an hour, and then threw it in the copper plating solution (made with root killer). It didn’t seem to take at first and I had to reposition the alligator clips once or twice, but after an overnight bath it was totally covered. The finish is pretty tough and came off only on the parts that I scrubbed quite hard when polishing. I’m currently giving it a faux finish with miracle grow to get a mottled green patina.
