Hello /r/3Dprinting,I’m a senior undergrad studying Mechanical Engineering at a popular US university. Earlier this week, I had my CR-10S confiscated from my dorm room by safety officials during a routine check due to an (unknown to me at the time) rule in our housing agreement banning “3D printers capable of producing any of the prohibited items.” There has been no reason other than the above mentioned (none due to any concerns of fire hazards). Has anyone else run into issues like this?It seems from my point of view that it is an overreaction on their part. With no evidence of it being used for malicious intent, is it right for them to impose such a strict ban on an item as useful as a 3D printer?I look forward to hearing others’ experiences with this. http://ift.tt/2CS7c8H
