Best upgrades for print quality

This hobby is made for tinkerers, and as such, we are constantly creating improvements for our printers. I’ve done way more improvements than I can even remember to my printer, it barely resembles the cheap kit it was when I bought it.So I ask, what are your top printing improvements? I’m mainly looking for more obscure small things that most printers have but are actually really poorly designed. The biggest one for me in this aspect was a non-fixed bed. Obviously, you need ABL (or insanely precise construction) for this to work, but fixing my bed onto the Y carriage with spacers instead of springs worked wonders for the quality of my prints.I feel like this ‘upgrade’ wasn’t something that is common knowledge or readily available as an upgrade in the same way many other small upgrades are for how big of a change I saw.So, /r/3dprinting, I ask this, what are your best print upgrades that you don’t think are common knowledge? http://ift.tt/2tJ4YV6
