Is protecting PLA filament against humidity really that important?

Hi,So apparently I need a plastic box and some “dry box” (box containing silica gel balls) otherwhise my PLA is going to absorb ambiant humidity and it will waste my prints.Is this really a thing?Thanks. http://ift.tt/2nbKrdf
