Makergeeks Misery – Never again

Just thought I’d share my experience over the past couple months after having ordered some filament from Makergeeks. I’m going to try to keep this short but give you all the information you need to make your own conclusions:February 10, 2017: Ordered the monthly bundle and a roll of their Black Flexible filament.February 16, 2017: Received the monthly bundle. Woohoo! Pretty happy with the product on this. However: No black flexible filament. Odd. No indication of a delay. Send email explaining this and asking what’s up.February 22, 2017: Notice on my CC transactions I was charged $29.95 again on February 16th (no email notification from Makergeeks). Still no response yet so I send another email asking for a response (and an explanation of why I’ve been charged again).Later that day: Receive response saying sorry for the confusion. The resin for black flexible is expected soon and they plan to have the filament sent next week. Ok, no biggie, just would’ve liked to know instead of being in the dark.. Also receive explanation that they bill immediately after the present month box ships. …not how I’d prefer this be done, but ok..March 30, 2017: More than a month since last contact. I was hoping this would sort itself out in time so I let it be. At this point I’ve received another Monthly bundle (the one I was billed for back in mid February – again pretty happy with this product). But still no black flexible filament and not a peep.Sent a notice (I’m done at this point):Request delivery of my filament by Friday April 7, 2017, or a refund in the amount of the undelivered product.Request cancellation of billing for future Monthly bundles (I’ve got too much filament now) – and state that I am OK with receiving the April bundle which I was already billed for March 16th.(These two requests come with the “threat” that I will file a chargeback claim via my credit provider if I have not received my product or a the refund by the specified date, and/or if I am charged again for another monthly bundle (I can’t cancel this manually.. and my attempts to contact aren’t being answered..).)Today.. Technically April 5th I guess.. I still haven’t heard a peep back from these folks, which is a real bummer. The quality of the product is decent for the price and I don’t mind the monthly bundles at all.. but – if you’re reading this, Makergeeks – handling customers like this is bad business.For starters I’m pretty sure that charging in advance for a product you will not deliver for another month is against the terms of your merchant agreement.Charging a month in advance is just not good practice period.The reports of your flaky inventory/ordering system go back well over a year (why isn’t this fixed?).Your flaky responses certainly don’t help matters.Why can’t monthly subscription be canceled by the user? I can’t get ahold of you so I have to resort to chargebacks?!TL;DR: Ordered filament February 10th, still haven’t seen it and Makergeeks email responses have been seriously flaky. http://ift.tt/2o3mrYy
