Do you have an enclosure/chamber?

I’m considering building an enclosed printer and was wondering if it’s worth the effort. What is your ambient enclosure temp and what material(s) do you print while your printer is in it?Would you say it was worth building/buying to improve print quality?Do you think reaching commercial printer temps (~80-90 C?) would help a lot?I have good prints with PLA and decent with ABS with a heated bed, hopefully an enclosure can bring it to the next level? http://ift.tt/28OQeEf

I have the opportunity to buy a used XYZDavinci for $100, should I?

Hey, found someone on craigslist trying to sell a used Davinci 1.0 for a hundred bucks. I’d like to know if you guys think this is worth it, and would also appreciate if you look at these pictures and confirm for me that everything is in order (I don’t know Davincis well). http://ift.tt/1WW50Vz says that the printer is complete, though “unable to print right now because the heating bed needs to be re-soldered”Thank you guys for your input! http://ift.tt/1UVDx35

Improve top layer quality?

In the week I’ve had my 3d printer the only thing I can’t seem to get good is the top layer quality of a flat object like a coin with a design. It actually almost looks like the head is hitting it on some parts and rough and ugly on others? I’ll link pictures if examples. If you look at the triforce and square they are very nice but the coin like things are bad http://ift.tt/26akhUM http://ift.tt/1rv48JQ

What can i do about filament coming off the spool and strangling itself on the spoolholder?

I got a robo3d so the spoolholder hangs off the side next to the buildarea and goes up through a hole in the top. For some reason the filament has a habit every so often of coming off the spool and falling to the side where it will begin to bind on the spoolholder and eventually strangle the printer. Is there some way to prevent this? http://ift.tt/1XwXY9P
