Two smoothing attempts in one day!

So, I’ve had an Ultimaker 2 for a few years now and have printed all sorts of items but only finished a few.http://ift.tt/1NVN1Ma RB is a realtor friend’s logo and was printed, bondo and sanded. I sprayed some cheap bulls-eye primer in several coats, light sanding between. Then I airbrushed it with Velljo French blue and metal medium. Lastly, I applied 3 coats of kreylon gloss. The other part is an end disc to a drive pulley and XTC-3D applied. I don’t know if I applied it thickly enough because it didn’t smooth terribly deep. Perhaps it’s not supposed to? It’s sure shiny though. If anyone has them, I’d love some suggestions on sanding tips. I really struggled with the RB print to get in some small areas.Or… suggestions on applying Bondo. It’s tough to use a putty knife on small prints. http://ift.tt/25tsMNB

Hello everyone, Thought I’d share my 1st 3D printer build, and 1st ever printed object. Looks like I’m going to be spending a fair amount of time fiddling with all the setting to speed up & refine my prints. Hope the image link works; off to try my 2nd print :)

eSun Cleaning Filament, di I ever cold pull or just simply run it through?

I just bought some cleaning filament for the times I suspect a clog. eSun’s instructions are sparse enough as it is, not included in the package and Intservo only has minimal recommendations. All the instructions I’ve found for it involved just running it through at the temperatures the previous plastic used or the next plastic will use. Temperature recommendations for cold pulls seem oddly lacking. Does anyone do it that way? Some people call it “atomic cleaning”.Edit: I did find Intservo’s instructions: http://ift.tt/1skQqdF I don’t think it’s enough for proper cleaning, see the notes. http://ift.tt/1qUCjdx

OK, it came, and I finally opened it and tried it out!
