I made a thing! (Movable figure with snap-together connectors)

Hey, /r/3dprinting – I made something!A few days ago, I was experimenting with making a snap-fit connector in TinkerCad, and I decided to try adapting a cantilever snap-fit to a rotatable joint. I printed a single joint as an experiment, and I was so pleased with the results that I cobbled together a few of them into this posable figure. I wasn’t very optimistic about the results – really, I have almost no artistic ability, and I’d have bet safe money on the proportions being grotesquely skewed – but when I put it together, it struck me as kind of cute. So, here it is: http://ift.tt/2bghdR5 http://ift.tt/2b5n67k

TIL An ABS pipe isn’t watertight

I made a return fitting for the end of a heater on my small pool. There is virtually no water pressure as this part is only a hook fitting that dumps into the pool. When the pump is on, water droplets form on the outside of the pipe around the bend at a steady pace and drip from this elbow connector. The part is 2 shells, 4 top and bottom, .25 layer, 55%, printed @ 245c. The wall is 2.6 mm.At least my fitting isn’t watertight. http://ift.tt/2aXlVTg
