ABS Phone mount for a scooter

http://ift.tt/253gICF with ABS and smoothed with acetone. Glued together with epoxy. The ball mount allows any cradle to be used.I would have liked to keep it entirely 3d printed, but due to vibration and stress, the plastic kept cracking, so I reinforced the bottom with a piece of metal and used an aluminum rod for the ball mount. http://ift.tt/1Xd685P

I received a 3d printer as a gift a few months ago. I printed things, I modified my rig, and now.. I am hooked! Q: What is the the best 3d modeling software for me.

I Like to repair or modify things to make them more useful or easier to use because, I love machines electronics and the process people had to invent to get things to the end result ect. ect. I’m low on moneys kind of person. I did try tinkercad and it is too limited and so it can be frustrating. I would like to be able to have a round cylinder without 250 facets like what happend to this Sriracha hot sauce cap cover with tinkercad. I would like to be able to make things to use more than make art or sculpture. I work 50-60 hrs and have a family so I listen to podcast and videos while I work when I can (commercial journeyman plumber easy work) to learn as much as I can about this stuff…side note the 3d Printing today podcast is great!Q: What software should I look into… to invest my time and money as a low level inventor, modder, fixer person. http://ift.tt/1XcdOVV

Trying to decide on a printer

Hello /r/3dprinting!I am fairly newer to 3D printing and have been doing my research on a printer to get. A few months ago I got a HICTOP Prusa i3 printer and it has been a complete nightmare. Z-Axis motors were messed up, other small things went wrong and the company said it was user error and won’t send new parts. (They did send me new screw rods because the ones they sent me were warped)But I learned from my mistakes and figured out I’m not too patient at assembling 3D printers from scratch. (Took me 38 hours to get my first one to move) After searching online for months, I found 3 printers I had my eye on. The 3D Printing Nerd over on YouTube has given me great information on stuff and shown me some new printers. With that said, here comes my question. What one should I get?My top 3 printers I’ve found are the DeltaWasp 2040, GMAX 1.5xt +, and the Type A Machines Series 1 Pro.I am wanting to print out parts for cosplay and models for my house. The biggest things I want are print size and print quality. Also, I’d like to avoid another full build of a printer, but if there is a great one you all know of, I will look into it for sure.I’m sorry if this has been posted somewhere else or had a similar topic to this one. Found this sub-reddit recently and thought I would ask. Also,if anyone in the UK near Cambridge wants my HICTOP Prusa i3 printer, you can pretty much have it at this point.TLDR; New to 3D printing, got a HICTOP Prusa i3 printer, hated it, didn’t work well, wanting a new one. http://ift.tt/229vmmJ
