Ya know what my favourite part about 3D Printing so far is?…

Everyone speaks metric!I’m into a few different, mostly practical hobbies – such as woodworking, DIY, home reno etc. and get most of my info, skills and general entertainment from watching others on YouTube. Seeing as the vast majority of these sorts of YouTubers are North American (and primarily USA), I’ve suffered for years through video after video of everything being talked about in feet, inches and pounds. Not growing up in either Liberia, Myanmar or the USA, I don’t have that instinctive knowledge of non-metric units, ie. I can’t “visualise” them in my head easily without doing conversions back to metric. I can visualise a foot, an inch, or even 5-6 feet, but give me anything outside of those whole single units, especially when it comes to bloody fractions, I’m lost.3d printing though – a new hobby I’ve recently adopted, I am so so happy that everyone, including the yanks, speak in my beloved decimal mm and grams!Might not seem like much, but for me it’s pretty damn refreshing. https://ift.tt/2Z6QrUs
