How 3D printing saved my basement

The only reason I went downstairs before work today was to check on the printer progress. The newly printed pulley was complete so I stayed to removed supports. That’s when I noticed water on the floor.A quick inspection revealed the unions at the water meter had recently (a few hours) started leaking, and it wasn’t a slow drip. I was able to shut off the main, remove the meter and replace the cracked gaskets. This saved a ton of future hassle because it would have gotten pretty bad before I would have noticed if the printer wasn’t there.Leak fixed, I then finished removing supports and happily admired the new pulley. Thank you, printer, thank you. https://ift.tt/322Orgs
