Maker Geeks is trash (but their filament is ok)

So I first heard the horror stories about Maker Geeks after I placed my first order with them. They had sponsored a YouTuber video series, and I wanted to support that YouTuber by using his discount code.I ordered 10 “Grab bag” rolls of filament, mixed pla and petg, and it went through no problem. I got my order in about 2 days and all was good.I went, only a month or so later and placed the same order and it sat for two weeks, no movement. I emailed them and was told “that item is currently backordered” and “it will be shipped in 4-5 business days”. Well I waited. The next week I emailed again, this time they said their PETG filament machine was damaged and it would be another 3-4 days. I told them I ordered grab bag filament. Literally any roll of PETG would fulfill the request. They must have been completely out of all PETG because that didn’t work.I wait, again, and they tell me “our shipment of PETG will be arriving to our warehouse in 3-4 days” sensing a pattern?I wait a week after their supposed delivery date to their warehouse, and email again. This time no answer.I did what I didn’t want to do. I filed a paypal dispute. I figure this will get their attention as this will refund the entire order. I know an order for 10 rolls of filament isn’t a huge deal to a reputable company, but this might get them to reply. At least a response to PayPal.They never responded.I waited until after this went through to post, because I didn’t want them to grease the squeaky wheel and not fix their problems. So I’m sitting here, with my order refunded and I’m tempted to email them asking for a status on my order.tl;drMakergeeks may run like a Ponzi scheme. They appear to sell product they don’t have in order to fulfill previous orders. Nothing is marked as out of stock on their website, and no notification is sent to buyers who might be impacted by “the water pump on our extrusion line that runs PETG” that went bad.Don’t buy from them. https://ift.tt/2J1eDBW
