So I got a CTC printer….

TL;DR This thing is trashGot if from ebay. Just going to list the BS I encountered with this thing.Loose screws rolling around the bottom of the box.Loose screws on the housing, lcd, and control buttons.Supposed to come with an SD card with software. Nope. It did come with a CD-R containing a single PDF, hey it’s the manual. It’s made of useless and engrish. Also found a pair of sunglasses in the box, now I can see aliens. No guide pipes for filament.2 cardboard boxes are under the build plate. Had to push the plate up to get the out. I’m sure the motor will be fine. One box was empty, other box had the filament.Screwed the extruders on to the axes with the included allen wrench and screws. Notice one extruder is lower than the other. No noticeable way to even them out.Power it on. So far so good. Poke around the menu, buttons still feel loose. I tighten down the plate for zeroing as per the on screen instructions. I start the process and the in transit to the first zero point, the lower extruder grinds across the plate tearing a gash in the tape. Looks like even the the build plate tightened down all the way, screwing the extruder down all the way was too much. had to back it off to zero it.After zeroing, the extruders move back to home position and make a god awful grinding noise when it gets there. Like it doesn’t know to stop. Only way to stop it was to shut off the power.Loaded filament into the lower extruder without issue. YAY something works!I grab a d20 model off thingiverse export the x3g file from Makerware 2.4 to an SD card.it won’t read the SD card.Try every format style fat, fat32, exfat, ntfs. No joy Try export as gcode, no joy.Try pluggin it into my computer directly with included usb A to B cable. Windows goes WTF is this? Drivers apparently don’t exist.I do some more research and find that some people have had success after extensive modification and going through the arduous process of updating firmware but and this point I AM DONE. They also have a tendency to set themselves on fire. Seller has a 60 day return so it’s going home and I’m getting my money back. http://ift.tt/2BuL9pM
