I’m still trying to decide on which 3D printer to pull the trigger on, and have some questions about safety that would probably help me make a decision.Currently I’m looking at going a cheaper route and getting something like the Monoprice Mini, but I’m also looking at the CR-10 because of it’s size. Larger prints would obviously take longer, which got me thinking about monitoring prints:-Is it safe to run a 3D printer when you’re not home?-If you do run your printer unattended; what safety precautions are you taking? I understand people run programs to monitor the print; but what if there’s a fire? (are fire proof enclosures a thing?)-If you don’t run your printer unattended; how do you handle larger prints? Do you run many smaller prints to make large objects, or can you stop a print and resume it several hours later?Realistically I’m only home for 12 hours a day; if I can’t safely run a print while I’m not home, I would probably go for the smaller printer. http://ift.tt/2yOYb39
