3D Hubs Will Not Show Your Hub If You Use Descriptive Colors

My hub went missing recently and, after some messing around, it is because I use descriptive colors. Anything other than plain black, white, orange, blue, green, etc will be ignored. Dark Green, Light Blue, Prusa Orange are all completely ignored. Color comes before material when selecting a hub. We used to be able to select a material and then be presented a list of local hubs and then select a color from the hub. This is no longer the case. Unless you have the correct material/color combination, your hub will be ignored.So 3D Hubs ghosted my hub with zero communication that these changes were being made.Thanks for reaching out. Based on feedback we received from our customers, we have reduced the number of colors and materials being shown. We are currently working on changing the material selection to have no color preference by default, which will allow more Hubs (including yours) to be listed by default and enable Hubs with more descriptive colors to be shown again.We are also working on a much more advanced material selection which will be deployed soon.I hope this helps! http://ift.tt/2xkuZR2

Time to build a good Hubs alternative!

It is clear that many people here have their pitchforks ready and the memes at a click, and I’m all for it. Saw the fiasco occur today and want to know, what do you want in a 3d hubs alternative? I’ve assembled a team to attack this issue with something, hopefully, as decently user friendly as hubs WAS and we will be making it driven towards usability and accessibility.But of course, what we like may not line up with what the community may want and therefore we would love to know how we can make this platform something that users would want to use. Fee schedule similar to hubs, but I’m shooting for lower, I mean come on, 12.5% ain’t the easiest to calculate amirite? A better back end, a ranking system that makes more sense for businesses and single users, with a way to allow people to toggle between the 2 for different service levels. Better front and back end customer service and at least a few team members are active right here in the Reddit community. We want to make it right.The hub for my company has all been but dead until the change so I’m certainly not complaining as much as others for sales now, but their PR and the way things are being handled are not ideal, anyone can see that. To me, that’s worse than getting few sales.. PR is life or death for a company. My team and I want to change the way you make your money, for beer, filament, beer filament, or other activities. Let me know what you’d like to see, maybe we can start a Google poll or something, who knows, but I want this to be a community influenced site where even the little guys have a say. Creality CR-10 original Marlin firmware and upcoming factory visit.
