d300vs duet firmware install — new machine

i built the body of my d300vs a week ago, but still can’t get the firmware going on my duet board.first, the instructions say ‘Follow the instructions for the latest version as detailed on the forum.’ there’s no link to any forum. ideally, a direct link to installation instructions is desired.according to this page linked to from the build guide the latest firmware for the d300vs duet is 1.18. there are no instructions for installing the 1.18 firmware from the factory supplied firmware. just “upgrade” instructions. but, i can’t upgrade, as i have never had firmware installed in the first place. i’m getting pretty frustrated here.i’m using this as my resource for this connection process.i can connect to the board through simplify3d (with an endless stream of READ: Received opcode 0000013e length 0 data), and turn wifi on and off. but i can’t actually get the printer on any network. here’s my deal:twiddling the state of wifi if i go M552 S0, it turns the wifi off. ok, cool. If i go M552 S1, it turns the wifi on, neat. if i go M552 S2, it should make it an access point.so, after m552 S1 or S2, i should be able to see the device listed as an access point for wifi from my computer, right? instructions linked say S1, but gcode reference says S2. then, i am supposed to be able to connect to it, and then get it to join my network, instead of me joining it as a network? according to the gcode reference, S2 should be the code value i send.sending M552 with it in mode S2, givesREAD: Network is enabled, configured IP address: 192.168.1.10, actual IP address: 0.0.0.0i just can’t see the duet from any device whatsoever. any help is appreciated. http://ift.tt/2ykeotD
