Very important to us; Is this possible?

Hi, and thanks for reading this. I don’t know anything about 3D printing and my wife and I are looking for -what I’m guessing is- some pretty basic advice. My baby daughter recently passed away. An absolutely wonderful nurse took her away and made plaster casts of her hands and feet for us. She was only with us a very brief time so these casts are of the few physical things that we have to remember her by.We have them in a glass case right now but I’m terrified that it will get knocked to the floor or the plaster will start to crumble. Is it possible for me to take them somewhere and have them (forgive my ignorance) scanned and a copy made of them? Even more ideal, a file created that I can backup, and I can take that file in somewhere, maybe years down the road, to have a copy made? Is this how 3D printing works? Are there establishments that would do that? If so, does anybody know of a location somewhere in or around the Toronto, Ontario area? Thanks so much! http://ift.tt/2xdoQSn
