MK3 Impressions from Maker Faire

I saw the new MK3 (along with Josef Prusa!) today at Maker Faire. Their booth was mobbed and lots of people were taking selfies with him – great to see an engineer as a celebrity!They had two MK3s and some of the new print sheets to handle. Overall form factor was same as MK2, with an obviously sturdier Y axis and base. Extruder looked a bit bigger. I wasn’t able to appreciate the small changes like filament sensor, etc.The steel print sheet seemed like the biggest advance. It was so much better than MK2 – metal, flexible, and matte finish. The Prusa staff member showed how you can take it off and just bend it to pop off the print – no more salt water or putty knives!Overall it looked great though I did not see it in action much. I will definitely get the 2.5 upgrade kit as the new bed will be key. http://ift.tt/2ylTut0
