State of /r/3dprinting.

Hello all.As many of you know, /r/3dprinting has grown pretty steadily, and we recently reached 100k subscribers. Woohoo! However this leaves the mod team in an interesting quandry:We get a lot of PMs from people who want things done in a particular fashion. The problem is, that each person’s particular fashion is a bit different.A few things that we’ve gotten either via modmail or direct PM so far this year:You’re doing a great job with spam. You’ve struck a good balance between allowing content creators to post their own stuff and policing spam. You’re doing a terrible job with spam. It’s great that this sub isn’t like other subs where they give new people a hard time for not knowing all of the rules. We should post megathreads and make all of the new people post there, or direct people who need help troubleshooting to another sub.We should ban the spaghetti pics and other memesWe have too many of this kind of post, we should get rid of themThis sub isn’t very active for having 100k subscribers.WTF? why did you guys remove my meme? You shouldn’t censor posts on guns. You allow too much discussion on guns.I could keep going, but I think you all get the idea.We want to hear from you, and if there are issues that need to be addressed feel free to post them here. Also feel free to message us./r/3dprinting is an amazing place, it’s where I turned to when I got my first printer. I want to maintain it as a place that is as open and friendly to people who are new to this technology as possible. How can we make it better?Edit by special request:Is anyone concerned about being listed as a popular sub that people can see on the front page when they are logged out? http://ift.tt/2kQ5UFX
