Hey Everyone,I wanted to wait until I was absolutely sure before posting this. I had been having no end of first layer adhesion issues with my Maker Select Plus (and 2.1 before that). I had done the thumbscrew mod, installed the z-braces, leveled the z-axis, messed with the settings too many times to count, and was always having issues.I’m happy to say that over the past 200 hours of printing I have had perfect first layer adhesion every time. The only thing that I did was remove the pre-installed buildtak-like surface, cleaned the metal plate and installed a 8×8 sheet of actual buildtak from amazon.The bottoms of my prints now are incredibly smooth. Before doing this, small objects were damn near impossible to print correctly without a raft, now they turn out great. So, if you’re having these issues and have tried everything else, try installing a buildtak surface.Tl;Dr: Had first layer adhesion issues, installed actual buildtak surface, issues gone entirely. http://ift.tt/2hT5pcB
