I made a RAMPS installation guide of sorts for those interested in having more of a choice over the stock offerings provided by those cheap Chinese printers (I’m looking at you, Anet A8).

what’s been your most important printing lesson?

Now that I’m getting comfortable with my printer, I’d love to know what was everyone’s bigger lessons on 3d printing? What was something that you found to be really good to know, or what kind of things do you wish you knew in the beginning? For me, I wish I used the right tape on my bed. The adhesive make such a tight seal that I was worried I’d destroy the print when I was taking it off of the bed. Also learning different causes for “weird looking prints” http://ift.tt/2fK3kgC

Tolerance expectations?

I’m currently tuning my printer in and would like to ask what tolerances should I be expecting to see?If i use a flow rate of 100%, i get a nice connection on the lines, perfect in fact, however my parts are 0.1-0.3mm bigger than expected, gaps/holes are slightly smaller due to this.I seem to recall that we should see 0.2mm tolerance on parts. Would this be sensible to say i’m dialed in at 100%? My X and Y axis are belt driven and the Z is using 2 lead screws. Running a DUET WIFI board, not RAMPS or any other 8-bit electronics. https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/5cdgh5/tolerance_expectations/?utm_source=ifttt
