My $325 D-Bot Core-XY build

Hello reddit!I recently got hooked on 3D Printing. I had a crappy Q3D Two-Up so needless to say I was longing for something a little better. I was browsing Craigslist when I happened upon an ad for a complete D-Bot Core-XY kit. The extrusions were already cut and the frame was even assembled! The peices were even printed in PETG and it came with a MK2a heated bed with 1/4″ Boro glass. So since I was about to get my wisdom teeth pulled I would have plenty of time to put it together. 1:50 Panther Ausf. A (PLA)

http://ift.tt/2dYWHrf File Credit: m_bergmanJust finished printing a 1:50 scale version of the German WW2 Panther tank, version A. Made in a Makerbot Z18 using PLA. Took about 4 hours for the turret and 16 hours for the hull.The detail on the top and sides came out almost perfect but the wheels and bottom are pretty messy. The bottom can be sanded but since the wheels have a lot of details like bolts, they will be a bit trickier to clean up more.The next thing I want to do is paint it to match Panther 501 from the Littlefield collection out in California. I have a few pictures of my own of the tank but not enough to completely match the paint job of the tank. If you printers could find some surrounding pictures of it, as well as some tips for painting on PLA and painting in general since I don’t have much experience with it, then that would be awesome. http://ift.tt/2eTCQaf
