Should the Prusa i3 MK2 with the new Multi Material upgrade be my next printer?

I currently have a Micro 3D. It works for some things. I can’t get the backlash settings to print circles very well and I do get curling due to non-heated bed. But for smaller PLA parts, it seems to be fine. But it’s more form than function and modifying it proved to be more difficult. I’ve found that 3D printing isn’t as clean and reliable as M3D promised.I want something bigger and better. In my head, I was thinking around 8″3 for build space. I also like the idea of printing different materials for supports vs model. Dual extrusion calls to me for mainly this reason. But somebody told me that dual extruding is twice the filament, four times the hassle. From what I’m reading, the alignment is the really tricky part.The Original Prusa i3 MK2 looks like it is getting some great reviews. The build volume is beyond what I was hoping for and has a heated bed. Now I see this Multi Material upgrade coming out and I’m thinking I may have found my unicorn.I wasn’t considering multiple colors for dual, just for supports and actual material. But for the extra $50, I’ll go for the 4 filament upgrade and that may convince me to use multiple colors as well.My goals:Larger print volume than the Micro 3D (8″ x 8″ x 8″ or larger)< ~$1000Ability to print ABS reliablySeparate support material (dissolvable) and print materialPrint circles on X & Y axisSomething easily improved, modified, and maintained.My questions:My initial reaction is to get the kit. I think it would be a fun learning experience. Or is it worth the extra $200 to have it built for me?With the Multi Material upgrade, can you still pause and swap out colors, so in theory you could print more than 4 colors (based on layer height)?Are there other printers that may meet my goals I should consider? http://ift.tt/2ewoePs

Anyone else have a Monoprice 3D plus? Unit won’t power on

Hello everyone,So I received my printer today, and I successfully did 2 test prints, they weren’t too bad, but after finishing the 2nd one I turned off the unit, and was getting ready to do my actual first print, but My unit won’t power on. I tried different outlets and unplugging everything on the printer and it still wont’ turn on. Anyone with the v2 have had similar issues? http://ift.tt/2eiWG0O
