I own 3 printers, a Cartesian based Maker Farm Pegasus, a Core XY D-Bot that I sourced myself, and now a Rostock Max v2 Delta.I always knew I didn’t care for the cartesian style because I really dislike the moving bed as the Y axis, which is why I built the D-Bot.LOVE the core xy, I’m getting great prints. I have a few small vibration issues I need to figure out and fix but other than that it’s solid. Print volume is great and settings are really dialed in, thanks to /u/spauda01 for that. Then comes the Delta style Rostock Max V2. Honestly when I got the kit I thought it was a bit over whelming to assemble, but I put together a D-bot so this shouldn’t be as bad, 2 days later I am printing perfectly, just need to tweak some settings in s3d for retraction and everything will be dialed in perfectly.I can’t believe how easy the kit went together, and now that the V3 is out and shipping soon after labor day, and now they claim to cut 50% off the build time, I cannot imagine how easy it’s going to be.There is a few quirks trying to dial in the z height etc with delta’s but I had it done in 15 mins, i only had to adjust 1 tower as the other 2 were dead on. I love them so much I think I might sell off the other 2 and grab a Max V3.I know there is many other Rostock owners here on Reddit, I’d like to see what settings you use for simplify 3d, so please chime in if you have a free moment. Thanks!!Here are some crappy photos taken at 2am, I have some footage of it printing at 100mm/s which is 2x as fast as my dbot prints currently. I’m super happy. If you’re on the fence about which printer to get, check out seemecnc.com and think about one of theirs you won’t regret it.Mods are only an e3d v6 with a 713 maker alum mounting bracket seen in photo 2. http://ift.tt/2bXdk2p
