MP Select Mini – Jammed – Where to start?

@mods, fix the all caps title.So I decided to let my printer run over night last night, because I had been doing little prints for probably 8 hours that day and felt comfortable that things would go smoothly.Well, they didn’t. I woke up to the extruder drive clicking (from slipping), and a print that wasn’t even half finished (even though the print was almost done).I heated up the nozzle and tried to both push and pull filament to get the filament free, and it won’t budge. So I’m pretty sure this means I have to take apart the hotend. This is my first printer and I haven’t done this before, where do I start? http://ift.tt/29nLAHS

PLA Smoothing

So I have been looking for a good technique to smooth PLA prints. I read everything from Acetone baths to MEK. I understand ABS has really good results with Acetone, and some PLAs as well. I am currently using eSun PLA+. I’ve heard colorfabb reacts to Acetone. I’ve done some research on Ethyl Acetate, and apparently that supposedly reacts to the PLA rather well. The problem with EA is that I can’t find a good supply or what it’s called “commercially”. Doe anyone have any suggestions on techniques or distribution points for EA? http://ift.tt/29rcmwN

Maker Select 3d printer

So I bought this 3d printer and I have a love/hate relationship with it.Worked great out of the box and for a few weeks and then, it stopped printing halfway through a job…I think i found a fix for the problem, where you reformat the Mini SD card before loading new files.But before I could test it, my son dropped a text book on the desk and snapped off the mini SD card in the slot….FMLOk so I was able to remove the card, I got a new card and started to go to print a file, loaded said file on the new card put the new card in and everything seems to work.But it will not start printing. it just sits there, has anyone else run into this problem?
