Tiko printer reports all user activity, no opt out

It was recently revealed that the Kickstarter project Tiko 3D will collect all user interactions with its printer. Users must agree to this data collection and can not opt out if they want firmware updates or support from the company. Considering the print quality of the printers received at this point firmware updates are not optional. Check out the Kickstarter comments over the past 24 hrs to see the carnage. http://ift.tt/29SAEiB

These guys make it sound easy to make really large 3D printed parts on a small printer. How many of you have made bigger parts by gluing 3D printed components together? What do you think of the idea?
