Edit .STL accurately similar to solidworks etc.

I end up having to tweak .STL files all the time and mostly end up using meshmixer. Meshmixer is great for filling holes and organic free hand changes but doesn’t do accurate geometric changes such as fillets, chamfers, and the like. I use solidworks all the time but it also doesn’t handle large stl files. Is there anything out there free or otherwise that edits .STL files geometrically where you don’t have access to the original model data? http://ift.tt/29Q32pc

Why does ABS bridge gaps so well?

I recently did my first ABS print and was amazed at the bridging capabilities. I’m printing on a printer with no enclosure, a bed that can’t get above 95c, and a thin coating of glue. I really did not expect abs to work but it sure does. And on top of that I’m printing very hot at 245c (verified at the nozzle), so I figured it would have massive droop. I’m definitely impressed with ABS so far. http://ift.tt/29E0ruD
