Real Talk. I’m crowdfunding a 3D Printer and everyone hates me.

Hey /r/3dprintingLike the title says, I’m in charge of a crowdfunding project for a 3D printer. This is not an advertisement for the campaign and I won’t link it here in the OP. We hit 100% on IndieGoGo in the first few days of the campaign and have partnered with a reputable manufacturer here in Seoul.I’ve seen a LOT of threads and discussion about failed crowdfunding campaigns and companies who have taken the money and ran. These campaigns are very similar to ours, promised similar things and some even raised more money than us. Based on this, I can totally see why the community here is cautious when it comes to crowdfunding. However, is it just a 3d Printer thing or does the apprehension apply to all crowdfunding, regardless of the product? We’ve got videos of the printer working and finished prints to show that we’re 100% serious about the product and that it actually exists and will continue to exist after the campaign. Spec sheets, interviews bla bla bla.I guess my question is; Is there something that campaigns that are actually serious about delivering their product could show that those who are all smoke and mirrors can’t?Or does the nature of Crowdfunding and the requirement that users put their faith in a product they’ve never physically seen or used, keep people on the side of caution and reluctant to participate anyway. Thanks! http://ift.tt/2aO3YWD
